Well what a difference vegan beef bouillon makes to this recipe. I halved the ingredients as I didn't want to waste too much food if it didn't turn out right. I used all the right ingredients this time, using the no beef bouillon. It makes all the difference I must say. BUT! When I was simmering it in the pan, I added almost double the bouillon which resulted in a far too salty vegan beef steak! Yuk! It looks ok (bear in mind, I didn't bother to shape it too much) but I need to try it with less bouillon in the simmering pot.
Im interested to know if any of you are interested in this type of information. Do you want to know if and when/how I make a great vegan steak (and other recipes that I find on the net). I was thinking I could try and make a variety of meats and cheeses and see which recipes are the best and report back here. let me know if this is something you are interested in. Now that National Breast Cancer Awareness Month has begun, many doctors and nutritionists are dishing out dietary advice to help women ward off the deadly disease. After reviewing the latest research, responsible medical experts, including those with the American Cancer Society and New York’s Montefiore Einstein Center for Cancer Care, have come to a consensus: women should eat a plant-based diet rich in phytochemicals, which fight inflammation and knock out carcinogens. This invaluable advice should shift our focus from wearing pink to eating green – in other words, to eating wholesome vegan foods.Permalink -- click for full blog post "Heather Moore: Eat vegan to beat breast cancer, say doctors"

Well I tried the vegan steak recipe as shown in the below link. I have some vegan beef stock on order but couldnt wait for it to arrive so I substituted that with some vegetable stock. Apart from that, I used all the right ingredients. It looks and feels "meaty" but this effort didn't impress me when it came to the taste. I will make it again when I get the vegan beef style boullion and see how that turns out. I'm searching for a great vegan meat recipe so if anyone has a recipe for me to try that I can share with you all here - please do send them in to me. I will post my next results this week!

“I’ve been a vegan for 24 years,” Moby, the musician, told me on the phone the other day. “With two lapses. I had yogurt in 1992, and I have to say, it was really good. And then I was at a friend’s restaurant in Portland, Oregon, a few years ago, and they made me some vegan sushi, but they accidentally brought me crab sushi. So I had a bite of crab sushi, and then my friend who ran the restaurant came running out yelling, like, ‘No! It’s got crab!’”Permalink -- click for full blog post "Can Vegans and Carnivores Get Along? Moby Thinks So"
A recent study by leading scientists shows that most of the world's population will have to become vegetarian by the year 2050 due to food shortages. The food shortage crisis has many culprits, climate change and a booming population being the two biggest reasons for the coming food shortages.Permalink -- click for full blog post "A Vegetarian Planet by 2050?"
