The persimmon fruit contains very good amounts of vitamin A and beta carotene, and is a good source of fibre and vitamins C and B6.

  • The persimmon fruit is a very good source of beta carotene which protects the cells from free radical damage, thereby helping to prevent cancer. Beta carotene also provides a source of vitamin A and helps the immune and reproductive systems to function properly.

  • Persimmons are very high in vitamin A which plays a part in eye health and can also help to fight off viral infections.

  • Persimmons are also a very good source of vitamin B6 which play a part in the breakdown of sugars and starches in the body. Vitamin B6 also helps prevent homocysteine build up in your blood.

  • Persimmons also contain good amounts of dietary fibre which helps with bowel regularity, thereby protecting against bowel cancer. Fibre also helps the body to maintain normal cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
