gooseberries Gooseberries are an excellent source of vitamin C and contain very good amounts of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5).

  • Gooseberries contain an excellent amount of vitamin C which helps protect cells and tissues from free radical damage, thereby helping to prevent cancer. Vitamin C also aids in dietary iron absorption.

  • Gooseberries also contain a good amount of vitamin B5 which helps turn carbohydrates and fats into energy and also plays a part in the health of the adrenal glands.

  • Gooseberries provide a good amount of fibre which helps to support bowel regularity, thereby helping to prevent bowel cancer. Fibre also helps to maintain normal blood sugar and cholesterol levels.

  • Gooseberries also contain a fairly good level of potassium which helps the muscles and nerves to function properly and also maintains the bodies' acid balance. Potassium also helps to lower the risk of high blood pressure.
