The cabbage is another cruciferous vegetable which contains unique cancer fighting properties.

  • The cabbage is a cruciferous vegetable (cauliflower, broccoli, kale and Brussels sprouts also fall into this catagory), which contain unique cancer fighting phytonutrients.

  • Cabbage nutrition also contains a very good level of vitamin C which helps to protect cells and tissues from free radical damage, thereby helping to prevent cancer. Vitamin C also aids in dietary iron absorption.

  • Cabbages also contain a good source source of vitamin K which helps with blood clotting and also helps to prevent postmenopausal bone loss. Vitamin K can also help to protect us from liver and prostate cancer.

  • Red cabbages are higher in disease fighting phytonutrients than white cabbages.
